Proposal for hard anodizing that is strong in high-load environments.

Anodizing is a rust prevention treatment for aluminum. Aluminum is a metal that reacts easily chemically, forming a natural oxide film on its surface. However, this oxide film is thin and weak, so when damaged, corrosion progresses. Therefore, the process of artificially forming an oxide film on the surface of aluminum using electrolysis is called anodizing.

Hard anodizing

About Silvec's hard anodizing

Hard Anodizing By hard anodizing aluminum, a highly wear-resistant coating can be obtained. Hard anodizing naturally develops a dark color, and as the film thickness increases, the color becomes darker. For example, with A5052 or A6063 materials, if the ordinary anodized coating has a hardness of about HV200, a hardness of about HV450 can be achieved, which is double that. However, the achievable coating hardness varies depending on the aluminum material. 【Thai Silvec Contact Information】 Office: 038-447-557, 038-447-558, 038-447-566 Thai Direct: 089-938-8207 Japanese Direct: 091-779-4427 E-mail: info@thai-silvec.com 【Japan Silvec Contact Information】 TEL: 048-994-5931 FAX: 048-994-5935 E-mail: info@silvec.co.jp

What is hard anodizing?

Mainly used for wear resistance and heat resistance applications. It can generate a dense thick film.

Hard anodizing, also known as hard anodic oxidation film or hard film, is processed for products in various fields such as industry, medical, and sports equipment. Typically, a hard and thick film with a thickness of 20 to 30 micrometers or more is obtained, resulting in high insulation properties. Anodizing is performed by passing current through an electrolytic solution to generate the film, which heats up due to Joule heating. The process of quickly and uniformly treating this heat at low temperatures to produce a dense thick film is known as hard anodizing. 【Features】 - Processed for products in various fields such as industry, medical, and sports equipment - Mainly used for wear resistance and heat resistance applications - Capable of generating a dense thick film *For more details, please refer to the related links or feel free to contact us.

Hard anodizing

Generates a thick and hard film! Widely used in sliding parts!

"Hard anodizing" is a coating characterized by its hardness compared to sulfuric anodizing and oxalic anodizing. It is processed in a low-temperature electrolytic bath to produce a thick and hard coating. It is widely used in sliding parts of mechanical components. With a hardness of 400 to 450 Hv and good wear resistance, the coating thickness generation speed is 32 to 80 μm in 40 minutes, and the film thickness is 30 to 60 μm. 【Specifications (partial)】 ■ Processing Overview: Processed in a low-temperature electrolytic bath to produce a thick and hard coating. ■ Main Purpose and Characteristics: - Wear resistance, corrosion resistance, insulation - Film thickness: 30 to 60 μm - Color: Gray to brown ■ Economic Efficiency: High electricity costs, high utility costs ■ Transparency: The coating varies depending on the material but generally turns black. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Hard anodized (hard anodic oxide film)

Providing peace of mind and durability! Introducing the anodized coating of aluminum material treated with a special electrolytic bath.

"Hard anodizing" is a hard coating that is thicker and more wear-resistant compared to conventional sulfuric anodizing. Thanks to established technology and know-how, we provide excellent products that boast wear resistance comparable to hard chrome plating. By generating a thicker coating compared to standard coatings, it covers the softness of aluminum, thereby improving the strength of the product. 【Features】 ■ Particularly excellent in sliding wear resistance and also has good seizure resistance ■ Exhibits its best characteristics at a thickness of 30 to 50 μm ■ Achieves a hardness around Hv50 higher than the JIS-H-8603 standard ■ Very high dielectric breakdown voltage ■ Can withstand DC250V with a 25μm coating on 1000 series alloys, and DC800-1000V with a 50μm coating *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

High hardness anodized Krodise

Processing capability up to Hv500. Krodise achieves remarkable hardness.

High-hardness anodizing "Kurodais" has become possible to achieve a hardness greater than conventional hard anodizing. It can be used in areas where strength was insufficient and aluminum processing was given up. It can be treated up to Hv500, making it ideal for parts that require wear resistance. For more details, please download the catalog or contact us.

Anodizing treatment, hard anodizing.

We have received high praise for our applications in corrosion resistance, electrical insulation, heat resistance, and more, due to the hard and thick film.

The secret to achieving a thick and hard coating with a rigid membrane lies in the ability of the refrigeration unit, which has a heat exchange capacity of 110,000 Kcal, to manage the liquid temperature in the electrolytic cell at 5°C. This allows for the generation of a membrane quality that is exceptionally thick and precise, unlike any other. The thick coating exhibits excellent characteristics in terms of permeability without the need for sealing treatment, making it applicable to products that focus on oil absorption.

I would like to measure the hardness of hard anodized aluminum. Is it possible?

I would like to measure the hardness of hard anodized aluminum with a Silvex, is that possible?

Q: I would like to measure the hardness of hard anodized aluminum. What thickness in μm would be appropriate to achieve suitable hardness, and is it possible to measure it? A: The hardness of anodized aluminum does not change whether it is 5μm or 50μm. However, when measuring Vickers hardness (Hv), a thickness of at least 20μm is required for micro Vickers. This is because the hardness of the anodized coating is measured in relation to the cross-section of the anodized layer. Vickers hardness is determined by measuring the size of the indentation left by a diamond. If the anodized layer is less than 20μm thick, it is not possible to measure the size of the indentation on that cross-section.
